Hi guys
My girlfriend (already a very skilled illustrator) is planning to take a course on animation. Yesterday we did a bit of surfing and seems that there are quite a lot of schools and universities that do this kind of things in London, like:
- Central St Martins
- Royal college of arts
- London Communication college
- National Film and Television School
- Metropolitan University. The first 4 are quite renown, but we don't know anything about Metropolitan (even if on the paper the programmes look pretty interesting)
So any of you have any experiences about the above nominated schools and/or can point out some websites or good resources to find out which one is good, or any other advice in general on this subject?
Thanks in advance

What kind of animation?
Narrative? Motion graphic?Personally I really learned by doing and paying close attention to the best work out there.

She's mostly on narrative animation.
Since she already has a very strong background in fine arts / visual culture and design she's looking for something quite practical to have the chance to build a solid reel.

placement in a post house would be better for that no?

^Depends. Perhaps placement in a Nickelodeon type network or studio, judging by her interests.
I really reccomend checking out ToonBoom Studio. From there, learn some about frame composition, camera work, and theater directing. It's all applicable. It's at least a good start before deciding about further schooling.
