So following on from my post about MySQL. It may of transpired that I may of been hacked.
The reason being – when I try to log onto "localhost/phpmyadmin" it then changes to "rockstar.home/phpmyadmin".
Does anyone know of A) a way to test if I have been hacked and B) how I can get rid of the issue?
Mac OSX4.11

I did google the problem Dancer and I came up with nothing. That leads me to believe it might not be a hack. But it sure does sound like one....

*yourmacname*.home is the same as localhost for that user.
So if you had myphpadmin installed in your /sites/ folder *yourmacname.home/myphpadmin is the correct url.

you can use the localhost IP as well, 127.0.0.1

what are the values of $cfg[’PmaAbsoluteUri’] and $cfg[’Servers’][$i][’host’] in your config.inc.php file?
- Dancer0
Hey Stupidresponse
$cfg['PmaAbsoluteUri'] = 'http://localhost/phpmyadmin/';
$cfg['Servers'][$i]['host'] = 'localhost';

maybe a silly question, but is apache running on your machine?
preferences > sharing > web sharing is enabled?

MAMP - http://mamp.info/en/index.php
FTW

yes – first thing I checked :)

are you running some sort of DNS server set up in your system preferences?
- Dancer0
Nope. I simply set it up to run PHP. Or learn PHP
- stupidresponse0
try 127.0.0.1 instead of localhost in your config.inc.php file and in the browser
- Dancer0
Well it just hangs. like before.
Once macscan is done I am goig to uninstall Entopy and install Mamp
- stupidresponse0
strange. well, sorry we couldn't sort it out. mamp is good for a one-click install and it's running, but I do encourage you to at some point set this stuff up yourself and wrap your head around the unix inner workings of your machine. to really get beyond a certain level in web development, you will need to understand this stuff, especially when you move to working with a live server. start with a book on learning the shell, beyond just this sort of stuff it will open up a new world of productivity for you. anyway, good luck.
- Haha thats something i need to do too, i keep putting it off though!YAYPaul

Many thanks again Stupid.
I am actually a print designer but being freelance you have to know a bit of web, I can do XHTML/CSS and thought that PHP would just be the next natural progression. My intention is not really to become a full on webdesigner.
Your help has been very kind
