I'm seeing some confusing messages regarding the size of the art. Apple is saying 300x300px but the program we're using for the feed is saying something like 144x400px. Anyone have experience wiff dis?

It's around 300px, I believe. Is there a difference between album artwork and podcast artwork? Won't it resize itself anyway?

that's what i thought but the feed keeps giving me flack when i try to upload it larger than 144px wide

Try that first and see what happens.

i have trouble settling for smaller than iTunes prefers though

"iTunes prefers square .jpg images that are at least 300 x 300 pixels, which is different than what is specified for the standard RSS image tag." I think the RSS ones are 144px, whatever that means.
Maybe this will help:

I been doing a podcast for over a year now, we use 300x300 for the one that is displayed on the iTunes store.
Then for each episode it doesn't really matter (just like on an mp3) we still use 300x300 though.

Great info. Thanks all

Also:
I was doing all the rss code by hand for about 10 months or so, till I discovered http://www.lemonzdream.com/podca…
Now everything is so easy and quick.

Also a free account with feedburner will help more people to subscribe, it so happens that unlike what I did think most susbcribers dont come from itunes. (although itunes pc has a large chunck of the pie)

Are there any good design related podcasts?

I'm subscribed to the creative cow/ after effects, no theorie though.
Design on radio has some nice interviews, but I didn't like a lot of the music so I quit listening (not really a podcast though)
