Hi all,
Following a few tutorials on opacity masks in illustrator, working my way through, everything is fine, except that I can fade to none, when I add a gradient mask, I can fade the bottom part of an image, but not completely remove it.
Are there any settings in illustrator which might cause my gradients to not fade completely to none?
Thanks

Maybe it has something to do with mixed colors in your gradient like grey scale and rgb. Try make allt he values to RGB.

- I know it can be done, but my opacity masks never seems to fade out completely at the bottom.leewilson78

hmm, for some reason, when I switch to cmyk, and then use the gradient tool to define the area, it fades out great.
Wonder why it works better under cmyk?

ah. Sorry, ok. I see what you were asking now, my bad.
Before you set the black white gradient into a mask - double click the black you're using and check the values. Might it be that you're using a 'CMYK 100% K' black instead of an 'RGB 0 0 0' black? I don't even know of hand whether this would make a difference, but it would certainly be the first thing I'd experiment with.
