Have a mate angling to get into a design/ad agency in Dubai. Any thoughts or leads people? Ta.

Wow, I can't imagine anyone getting hired just for their fishing skills.

I just think I would have to be paid a serious grip to move to that place.

if i went there i would visit first and return home before signing anything. they might have dope buildings but there is probably more than meets the eye once you are stuck there.

Plus it gets like 130 degrees fahrenheit there, you can have that shit.

I have a couple friends who are airline pilots over there its kinda messed up. The pay is GREAT though & plenty of perks. It is shiny and glossy...but seems really cold and distant no? They say the same...it can in no way ever be "home".

I would do it for a couple of years... then head back home.
Is quite a cool place for a holiday and could live there for a while but the heat would really get to you.... feck me I sweating even thinking about it!

Not sure if this is up their alley, but it's pretty new:

Living hell. I lived/worked in Abu Dhabi for a while and from what I hear the situation in Dubai is worse than AD. Here's my story. First, pay wasn't great. Second, every client will view you as one of their bitches and treat you as such. You work for them and you are at their mercy, period. We were doing a furniture brochure for a client and had a meeting with them at 1 in the afternoon. They showed up at 9 pm and we just had to wait for them. That was the worst example but there were many others like it. I loved the country but I couldn't see myself working there again.
Oh, and filter grooverider and see if that stupidity is worth it as well.
