The more the better... he is an idiot though.

choices are great if they were 3 equal choices, if his sole purpose is to tip the scales in favour of the republicans then fuck him.
if he didn't run in the last two elections bush wouldn't have won if i'm not mistaken.
- madirish0
wow.... that is an awesome way of basically collapsing the multi-party argument into a soundbite.
we clearly disagree; but to say he is wrong is, well,...... "incorrect."

didn't he cost al gore the election in 2000?
- other than that he seems like a nice chaplifeinbinary
- nope. gore lost the election himself by running a weak campaign with a weak personality.jaylarson
- Actually, Gore lost because the Supreme Court stopped the recount and appointed Bush.jellyneck
- well gore won the popular vote. so some people say bush didnt win shit.. those damn electoral votes.

Look at the UK, we have 3 political parties 1 of which is a bit Mickey Mouse and will never get in. Unfortunately the majority of voters are too set in their ways.
- _niko0
we have 4 main parties in canada.
1.PC-Right wing
2.Liberal-Left wing
3.NDP- left wing
4. Green- left wing70% of the country identifies itself with being Liberal yet because the liberals had to split their vote between 3 parties, the conservatives ended up winning the last election.
how does a country that is mostly liberal have a conservative PM?
- canadians can't count properly?flashbender
- You forgot the Bloc who hold way more sway than the green. Don't forget the sex party too.JKilla77
- Oh cause the liberals stole a bunch of our money.JKilla77
- also lets not forget the Rhino party and also the marijuana party.eegrek
- The Liberals suck!eegrek

I don't think Ralph incites the kind of passion necessary to have a maniac try and kill him.

Nadar is nothing more than a megalomanic that creates nothing more than confusion amongst delusional voters. His efforts to win support for his beloved green party has set the independent movement back 20 years. He is nothing more than the "Donald Trump" of politics.

a multipparty system is superior to a 2 party system in about a billion different ways.
Remember when there were like 30 presidential candidates?
let them all take part in 4 debates - people vote. if no one gets 50%, the top 2 have a runoff election a month later.
Done. 3 months total. None of this triple digit million dollar campaigns lasting nearly 2 years.
- _niko0
people are too caught up in party loyalty. 30 presidential candidates would be great.
2 candidates with a realistic chance and Nader with no hope in hell fucking it up for the Democrats...not so much.- yeah but if 15 are democrats, then instead of "voting democratic" you can actually pick a candidate you likeflashbender
- and STILL vote democratic. Imagine that.flashbender
- threadpost0
and bloomberg will fuck it up for the republicans.
However pissed I may be that Nader took just enough votes away from Gore in 2000 to let bush win, I still voted for Nader. I was living in Utah at the time and Bush won that state by like 70%. My vote was a symbolic one.
The modern Democratic party are so fucking conservative, it takes someone like Nader in the mix to remind us what it means to be liberal anymore, we just dont see it because the neo conservatives have railroaded this country and swung everything so radically to the right, that anything somewhat moderate or centrist (obama or clinton) come off as being liberal. I say welcome to the party Nader.
- mrdobolina0
Why doesnt he run for mayor or something first? That is what I never understood.
- ninjasavant0
Ron Paul as a third party takes votes from the Republicans. Nader takes swing votes from democrats. Doesn't he realize he's ensuring the greater of 2 evils?
- pr20
bush won florida by 550 votes -- that means that every single vote count. the symbolish of you voting for Nader is lost when you end up in a fasist state for 4 years only because a few thousand people wanted to make a symbolic gesture.
- perhaps then the problem is the electoral college?flashbender

^^this reads like it was directed toward me, I realize the margin in battleground states was razor thin, in that case I certainly would have voted for Gore.
Being that Utah is a hot bed for repug ass hats, my vote for Nader was to remind the Dem's that they have a responsibility to represent the liberal wing of their party. Were it even close in Utah, I would have certainly voted Gore.
