Looks good?! Anyone used it or recommend it...

would this have any chance against the power of google ad sense though?

I'd say so yeah, I know of a couple of large/successful websites that are using it to manage their ad campaigns... It allows you to manage your own ad campaigns from advertsiers... and I though Google AdSense just generates random ad's, so you could all sorts of shit popping up on your site...?! :/

I've used it before - the interface takes some getting used to - kinda weird (over complicated but powerful). I use it to adjust priority of adsense vs. sponsor ads on a site I have. E.g. If I have a few advertisers on my site paying big $ I can make their ads do something like "show 1 in 10 ads, and only twice for each user, on Mondays, Wednesdays, etc. and all other times display adsense.
It's probably one of the best options if you have a fairly large site and need banner management. Has tools to let advertisers log in to view their own stats, and even email them weekly reports.
It's not an alternative to adsense - apples vs oranges - it's an ad management application.
- P.s. It used to be called OpenAds and before that was called PhpAds.Mick
- awesome, thanks Mick********

I've used it for about 3 years to serve ads. Works great. It seems to be very powerful, but I've really only used it to serve our own ads, although I know it can connect up with 3rd party ad serving software as well (adsense, doubleclick, etc...) Great piece of free software :)

*bump
Sorry to bump this topic, I've been experimenting with OpenX loads and it seems great so far... but when I've integrated the code (invocation code) into test pages, the page seems to take a long time to load, where without the code it loads almost instantly... Has anyone else encountered this problem or found a way around it?
Cheers

Yep, that's the nature of ad serving in general. Put it on a fast server with a super fast ping time to the site you're using it on and you should get decent results. Also, if you load them in iframes, they won't slow down the loading of the rest of the page. If that's not possible or logical for your situation, try putting the ad script towards the bottom of the html and use absolute positioned div's for placement.

Cheers, I actually just solver the problem, I just turned off the automatic maintenance found in 'settings/main settings' and that worked! It now loads instantly! (phew!). Odd how such a small thing could cause such a problem though! :/
