PS position with coordinates?

Here's a photoshop question for you.
I'd like to be able to simply type in the x and y position of a layer to position it - similar to how it works in flash.or at least get a continues feedback of the layers x/y position. The info panel does a great job of telling me where the mouse cursor is but not where the layer is.
I know I can press apple-t and use transform panel - type the coordinate into that. i just want that to be constantly open and without the need to confirm the change of position.
Then it'd be a lot quite to arrange an layout accurately.
Anyone know if there's a feature in photoshop that does this?

I don't think so - I'd use a grid, with Snap To > Grid switched on instead... or Guides, with Snap To > Point on.
- ugh... I meant "or Guides, with Snap To > Guide on."detritus
- or did you mean, guides, snapgrid --> guides to grid with, gridguides on snap-to, too, switched to snap, off. ?Spookytim
- Oh, snap!detritus
- (I have no idea what that means when our American cousins use it like that)detritus
- maybe they mean 'oh snap to grid'? but a short version?menos

^ i meant as soon as you hit apple-t you have the bar above. you don't need to go to the menu panel.

so basically, 'ctrl t' is one stage too far for you and is eating into your productivity?

yeah - cos if i want to arrange 10 items i have to 'apple-t', type in position, confirm and then repeat 10 times. it should be quicker. all it needs is one position panel open and to simply type in the position select next layer and repeat. no 'apple-t' for each later and no confirm.
