  i am finalizing my trip for march 4th til march 6th.
  the 5th and 6th is when i can see the city and party.
  also i am going alone [FUCK YEH!!!] so no more old man tag along.
  i am trying for a hotel in Union Square, is this a good area?

  is union square in the downtown area? how is public transportation?
  do i need to rent a car? or is there trollies ok? is SF small or large too?

  small. if you plan on just staying in the city the whole time, you definitely don't need a car. the city is only 7 miles by 7 miles. muni is decent, bart is great. union square is smack dab in the middle. market st is shopping etc. walking distance to chinatown, embarcadero, fisherman's wharf. take the bart to the mission for drinks and dinner and galleries. take the n-judah train to haight for awesomeness and golden gate park.

  every hotel i have called so far is booked, i have tried over 20 hotels..
  my meeting is on Battery Street and Union Street. i kinda wanted to be close to there, can someone recommend a hotel near there?
