i knew a bike mechanic who had "righty-tighty" and "lefty loosy" in script down back side of his forearms, each on the respective arm.

I just had my 5th session of having my tattoo removed. 5 more to go. When all is said and one, I'll have spent 20x to get my tattoo removed than to get it in the first place.
It's big and on my back and after each treatment I can barely move for 5 days. What a pain.

I have always wondered what will you do with your body after the hype goes away. It's not like it will have any interest to science anymore.

i prefer wacky tshirts to tattoos.
changing skin gets too expensive

The hype has been around for thousands of years. I don't think its going anywhere anytime soon.
- Yeah, but those thousands of years mostly related to Uganda. Hypes were different there.Corvo
- well that wasn't great english, but you get the picture.Corvo
- Where did you get that information from?Ruffian
- From social anthropology class, I swear.Corvo
- j/k. sort of. tattoes were widespread all over the equatorial world. Mostly it related to battles and achieving warrior status.Corvo
- achieving manhood status in many Poli, African an NZ tribes. It was like a feat-count because they didn't write...Corvo
- Heh, as I recall tattoos have been around in Eurasia since the stone age. Don't know about Uganda :)Ruffian
- ... down the tribes' history on paper. Like totems. It makes that way. It doesn't make sense now. my op anyway.Corvo
- yes in eurasia too - but mostly chieftains and high-military could "wear" them.Corvo
- Thing is tattoos were used to record history. People now wear them like t-shirts. Tattoos as visuals records of personal..Corvo
- .. experiences cannot last too long on extremely individualistic societies such as we have now in the West.Corvo
- Look: it's a completely different experience having your chieftain or posh-king going around with the whole tribes'...Corvo
- ...history on his back. that gave him power and authority. He was the king! But what do we care about Amy Whinehouse...Corvo
- Jeesh, I see your point :) All the tats I have have a meaning that wont fade and are not something to flash around.Ruffian
- ...having "Blake" carved on her boobs? It's not like it matters to anyone or makes any diff. Bad example, probably.Corvo
- O but meanings fade, ruff... meanings fade. And that's why people painfully remove tattoos.Corvo
- anyway, these ****ing notes were not made for conversation.Corvo
- Good habit: writing books or love letters. you keep em for ages, but one day you burn the lot. Songs of experience.Corvo

Arthur,
Why are you getting your tattoo removed? Isnt a back tat something you could ignore? What size is it?

It just doesn't represent me in any way anymore. I got it at a sad point in my life 15 years ago. Things for me have changed and it's an unhappy reminder. It's also a very loaded image and I feel self-conscious when it's exposed - so away it goes. I'm excited for it to be gone.
- readyok0
Shit man, that's too bad. I guess it is nice to ditch the sad part of your life. I think that is why I would be hesitant to get anything other than family tattoos. Even if I at some point wished I had clear skin, I wont hate the subject matter.
Im getting one on the old forearm for my new baby girl.
- readyok0
The forearm is gonna be great. It is going to be a lighthouse with a scroll that says my daughters name on it "Ella Rae".
