Though I have been hazed here before for my logo design associated with this project, I now have a site mock up which requires some scrutiny.
I have determined that there isn't enough white space, but I'd like to solve for including "the offers" in the home page in a cohesive manner.
The two images on the left, choose a trainer and visit the shop are missing some visuals.
here it is:

i can't put my finger on it, but i find the whole thing quite offensive.
- i think it might be the colours.********
- im assuming he got the colors from the photo using the eyedropper tool, but yeah not spectacular********
- oddly enough, the color scheme is based off of the logo. the picture coincidentally contains the colors.********
- ..same blandness********

I don't want to flame you but this looks closer to a wireframe than a design. Conceptually it's still lose and for a sports site it's very static, too balanced, lacks depth and is more on the monochromatic side. You have some way to go adding detail to the design and figuring out where the "eye" should go. It's a good first step in but it still needs your design attention.

i'm afraid i would offend you if i tried to explain what was wrong here
i'll instead tell you what is right
- your on a fairly clean grid
- you have a somewhat obvious organization of information- i used illustrator. Email me if you wish to harshly critique me in private.********

I think, for a start, you should bulk it out with some more realistic placeholders - get some more imagery in there, so it looks more 'live'. At the moment it looks like an initial fleshing-out and I think you need to spend a lot more time honing the detail and bringing the elements together. To be honest, as it is, it's quite dull - the grey and peach combo is a bit flaccid and there's not a lot of cohesion.

do some research... study how other sports/fitness sites are laid out. look into other similar companies: biking, outdoors, clothing, etc. see if there is another layout that may work to make element stand out.
maybe its an edgier design, or stronger colors...
i would also be careful putting rounded elements with square ones

Agree with robotron. This mock lacks energy. As a potential customer, I am not inspired to join or get off my ass and change my life. I don't feel that any thought has been put into this...where's the idea behind the blocks of content? The colors, the layout...all seem random.
Some ideas...these are not by any means the best design ever, but you get a sense of energy...they speak to the aspirations of the audience coming to the site:

see the problem is, I kinda have been forced to execute a design based on a loose interpretation of what the company is about. All I know is that its a fitness consultant outsourcing company. At this point I have no copy or marketing materials.
So I'm thinking obviously a client upon entering would like to know what they can do here which explains the links/images being on the first page, etc. From here, I'm thinking that each respective page would provide more detailed information.
Have any of you encountered situations like this? How do you handle it?

Do you mean no marketing material exists? Do they have a mission statement? Anything from a business plan (please say yes?!)? If so, get it whatever you can get your hands on. If not, maybe sit down with the client for a couple of hours to get the information you need. Right now you are designing with a blindfold on...you can't succeed.

monkeyshine you are right, I suppose I could go around in circles here on this without enough to go on.
I have a call with the client later to discuss this.

i find it too blocky. get more creative!
