Has anyone had any positive dealings with recruitment agencies?? I am trying to get new work (permanent and/or freelance) but the agencies I've seen have been utter shite.
Anyone care to recommend a good 'un?

we use major players and aquent a lot, they're alright i suppose. depending on what kind of work you want to do, there are specialist agencies. if you want to do brand work, for example, you're better off with someone like represent.

I approached represent, but they told me to go away. My work is mainly music industry stuff, but I'm wanting to get out of that for obvious reasons. Will try the other 2 though thanks
- snobbery! part and parcel of brand work, eh.paraselene
- Represent seem to be known for there incestuous elitism.Concrete

I've not had any good experiences with recruitment agencies. In the past month or so I have met with a senior consultant at Purple who has since given better advice in an article in this month's grafik mag. I also met with MajorPlayers. They both said similar things, complemented my work told me to expect big things and what work to show in interviews etc. Then - NOTHING. I've followed up with friendly e-mails and phone calls but very little else has come of my meetings with them.
Basically, represent yourself.
