never heard of it... have you searched macromedia for this hd flash? it might be a virus, or possibly flash dectector scripts dont work with it

why do i bet this is a Windows-only thing....

the latest version of flash player supports HD video, 9,0,115,0. it's not that new though

http://www.adobe.com/products/hd…
The watch video part does not work in FF, and IE7 is asking me to update flash. Says I have version 9,0,45,0 - latest is 9,0,115,0
I'll try and let you know
- AWESOME!!! Flash install failed and rebooted my computer. good thing I wasn't in the middle of something...joyride

FP9 supports HD video if thats what you mean, poor flash detects only check for versions that dont match the verison of the published swf required for the site - which is wrong as newer versions of the player can read old content

Yes, I can confirm the new flash player 9,0,115,0 does not work w/ swfobject. But will work with AC_FL_RunContent.js
interesting and shitty, like I want to go back and fix all the sites that use swfobject

I have FP 9,0,115,0
and it works with SWFObject v1.4.4: Win XP FF 2

Are you on a Mac? Are on on an admin-level account?
Latest version of Flash Player works fine on every Mac browser I've used lately, but... if you do not install it from an admin account, it causes really weird behavior (i.e. detection schemes failing, but content playing correctly if there's a way around it). Of course, it doesn't ask for an admin password, or even tell you you need to be on an admin account.

if swfobject is failing in IE, it's not swfobject, you have a corrupt flash player install. un-install and re-install and it will work. did for me.
- so why do sites that use AC_FL_RunContent.js to embed still work? only swfobject effectedjoyride

HD Flash? I don't even know what that means. There was no size limit on swf or even Flash video.
- ondo0
HD = High Definition (Video)

can anyone get http://www.adobe.com/products/hd… to work in IE 7 with the latest player to work?
I've uninstalled + reinstalled the player a few times and still does not work.

Fuck a flash player upgrade
- mydo0
re-installed flash player, upgraded site to swfobject1.5 and it still doesn't work... do i wait adobe or swfobject to fix them selves or switch AC_FL_RunContent.js ?
or are joyride and i the only people out there who are having this trouble?
damn, i should just use animated gifs.
- joyride0
You know, now that I think about it, i used swfobject last week and a client said it didn't work in IE. I thought she was crazy, but switched it and it worked fine. I bet she had the latest flash player.

when you uninstalled it, did you use adobe's flash player uninstaller?
- joyride0
yeah. OK mydo, try this.
Shut down, all program and browsers. Use the adobe uninstaller. Then open IE7 and go to adobe.com, run the install false from the IE browser. I just did that and it started work...
But it's still a problem, I guess the flash install will "silently" fail. Which effects swfobject I guess... that's wierd
- mydo0
i didn't, i just kinda deleted some things.. i have now... and horray no more problems...(thanks thepod).
now all i need to do is leave a message in all my flash replaces explaining to every user how to fix their computer... nice one adobe!
