wipe everything and run leopard from scratch. Perhaps.

not having that problem at all, with my new iMac. have you tried wiping your illy prefs? Can them, then open illy, build from there. Do not open a file until you've set everything up. Then quit illy and save those preferences somewhere in a folder called "good prefs" so you have a base to go back to.
then open illy see if that helps at all..

I've just done a fresh install on me G5 yesterday, downloaded all the updates for leotard first, then installed CS3, updated them all to their recent versions before opening them up for the first time. Seems to be doing the trick so far so good. I've also stayed clear of all these leopard UI enhancements, keeping leopard as true to the fresh install as possible. And a clean desktop with only a handful of aliases to me most used folders.
Fingers crossed.
Good idea with the PREFS, Rodzilla!
Anybody have probs with the dictionary in Indesign reverting back to an american dictionary though? Not good when you in UK at all!!

what are the files I need to look for in my user/library/preferences folder? the .plist ones or the whole folder?

PowerBook Pro, eh? Maybe you shouldn't buy your Macs from street vendors in Chinatown.

Damn Leopard and CS#!!! I installed them a few weeks ago and it totally F#%*k'd up my work. No programs would open. They would crash immediately. It took me two days to get everything right and it ended up with re-installing Tiger on my system. I lost 2 days worth of work time. I was pissed off!
