Wondering if anyone could shed some light on transferring from Verizon to AT&T.
I got an iPhone as a gift and need to get out of my Verizon contract. We're on a family plan and I'm not the primary line on the account. My wife is.
They told me it would still have a cancellation fee even if I'm the secondary line.
Anyone have any suggestions or dealt with this?
I'm think I might just have her leave VZW as well if we're paying the cancel fee.
thanks

Why not drop the plan to the absolute lowest monthly payment, or do they still consider that a breech of contract? Those 2yr contracts blow dude.

I was able to drop my Verizon account to $30/month for the remainder of my contract. Put a voicemail message saying your new number is 111-111-1111 to use it to get people to the new number. Then just use the Verizon phone for some random Peak minute usage.

Just so you know, they told me that me and my wife *both* would have to pay the cancelation fee. Two fees. So we didn't do it.

verizon is a pain, but what phone company isnt i guess... if they are in your area and you want a land line, but want to go with someone else you have to pay them anyway to let the other provider come in and use their lines... its ridiculous... i guess that may be any company too, but they certainly get their moneys
biding my time so i can cancel my tmobile account, and possibly get on at&t again... family plan

You can have them put your account in vacation mode. It's for cases where you're going out of the country and whatnot. It's only like 5 dollars a month and your phone isn't used anymore. You might want to look into that.

I was on a family plan also when I switched over to at&t, they originally told me I was going to have to pay a fee and that the # wont switch over but then I called back and talked to someone that actually knew how to do their job and they switched me over without a fee and I still have my original #. Anyway keep calling until you actually get someone who knows how to do their job.
