"Breaking Bad is an American dark comedy/drama television series created by X-Files producer Vince Gilligan. Its first season, consisting of nine episodes,[1] (seven episodes produced before the writers' strike) is currently in production for AMC, and premiered on January 20, 2008. The series stars Malcolm in the Middle's Bryan Cranston as Walter White, a struggling high school chemistry teacher with a handicapped child and a pregnant wife. When White is diagnosed with terminal lung cancer, he "loses it" and turns to a life of crime, setting up a meth lab in order to support his family.[2]
The title of the series comes from the American Southwest slang phrase "to break bad," meaning to challenge conventions, to defy authority and to skirt the edges of the law. The series is set in (and is shot in and near) Albuquerque, NM."

I love when he walks out the back of the store leaving his wife and son thinking he isn't standing up to those kids. Then he comes in behind them and stomps on his leg.
"What's the matter? Having trouble walking!"
"What are you waiting for, your girl friends to back you up? Take a shot, better make it count!"

great show. Dont think there's going to be a happy ending though.
Took a while to stop seeing the dad from Malcom in the Middle. That guy's a pretty good actor.

misery as entertainment is fundamentally wrong because it makes the viewer feel empathy not for real people with real misery but for the representation of it which, as we know, conforms to a narrative in the service of keeping the viewer interested. Watch TV and you might believe you are exempt from responsibility other than fascination with the specatacle.

i dig dark comedies. this is very character driven, much along the lines of six feet under.. of course its gonna end badly, all the assets are there for it ending badly, they let you know that going in. just the writing is awesome, and pairing up walt & jesse is a great combination. i think its a brilliant show
- speaking of six feet under, i've never seen it. i hear it's good?hitsuji

I like dark comedies with character development.
