Hi all,
Just wondering if there is a site that has free remakes of popular fonts?
I have spent unnecessarily on creating mockups of designs, where the font was turned down.
Obviously, I will purchase the original if the font makes it to the final design stage, I don't mind it being poor quality at this stage.
A font I am looking for right now is ITC Bauhaus.
Appreciate any help.
Thanks

Thats pretty cool, couldn't find one for ITC Bauhaus though, not with Bauhaus as the search term anyway, would I need to search through the whole archive?
Thanks

hmmm, you could search for font aliases on google, they get redrawn sometimes with different names and I suppose some of them would free...

yeah probably... some of those are punked versions of real fonts, but they have all sorts of goofy names... try to look by description?

cheers kelpie, will do.

How about just trying the font at the website and copying/pasting to whatever project you are working on?
http://www.fonts.com/findfonts/_…Not the best way, but I can't seem to find anything other than free font websites.

check your mail, I have something a bit like it, it might work

how about i come over to your house and take that cool computer you're using? You wouldn't mind, would you?

but if you really are going to buy it, have you tried using the the FLONT type engines, making screen shots, and then showing clients.... with the price next to the font?

CCG and Jaline are right. The reason every proper font vendor has a customizable sampler is so you can try before you buy. Fonts.com's isn't great, but Veer's Flont is decent and FontShop's sampler will go up to 388 pts!
http://www.fontshop.com/fonts/si…Working with a knockoff font won't do you or your client any favors.

myfonts.com has the best.
