Looking to book a week away during the summer and have narrowed down my destinations to Berlin or Copenhagen!
Anyone been? Any experience of both cities!?
Thanks very much!

haven't been to copenhagen, really wan't to go to scandinvia in near future. BUT I am able to tell you that Berlin is a hell of a city. great tourist destination, lots of great parties, museums, galleries, small bars, bookstores, record stores etc
if you decide to go there, rent a bike the first day, it's a great way to get around and experience the city.
also, drinks are a lot cheaper in Berlin ;)

Been to both and loved both of them. Found that i only scratched the surface with Berlin until i met up with a buddy there. All the cool parties and bars are all in the outer parts of the city so some insider info goes a long way

ow and if you want to experience berlin, stay away from these hypocrits:

these former squatters "secretely" made a deal with the municipality and are making loads of tourist money by pretending to be genuine german squatters from the eighties (money over principles kinda story :(....
i agree with thumbscrews, get some inside information, the interesting things tend to happen just outside of the citycentre

I have never been to Berlin but here its cool.
Copenhagen is much like a lot of European cities with emo's sitting on the fountains and top notch street performers. At first glance it can seem a bit traditional and old fashioned but you have to remember that some of the filthiest porno and darkest death metal comes out of Denmark, they know how to party.
Plenty of things to do and places to see, heaps of museums and galleries in the city. You will want to travel with friend/s though as you may not have the energy to go and hits the pubs and restaurants by yourself. You can walk and bike everywhere. We walked all the way from Nyhavn to the little mermaid in one afternoon.
Nyhavn
If you can handle the risk of getting a psychedelic room maybe stay at hotel fox. You know the joint, each room decorated by a different designer. Its quite a central location too with a 5 minute stroll into the city.
Sorry for all the holiday snaps, I couldn't resist!
