Tesco stopped using this logo in the late 80's when they needed a more progressive image. I like the old Cisco logo better. Companies should hold steady during that 10 year period when their logo looks a little outdated. Like a good wine; once a mark has got through that relatively short 'unfashionable' period, it then matures and starts to exude a sense of brand heritage that these knee-jerk re-designs are not able to compete with... in my hum-bowly pinion. Most logo re-designs seem to me to be trying to get back to the more simple, flat kind of logo marks that were used before the late 80's and 90's design craze for shiny, 3d, drop shadowed glassy 'real' logos.

It took me forever to realize that the logo is to represent the Golden Gate Bridge with their old one.
Seems like they are still using the general look, but going a little away from that as well.

I wonder if the same designer did the sitemeter logo...

Letters2 does it really matter, it's discourse about design! and not like most of the threads in this place about pointless bull sh*te.
Don't like it Dancer, but I know what you mean about the mark!!

Nah, it only matters in reference to being new and put in context. Just helping timeline it. I'm with you on being pleased to have some... any... design discourse

I think that logo is nice, very clean.

all the new logos have the same type... it's all soft and very web 2.0-ish.

Is that really new Kodak logo? It looks like the old BurgerKing logo to me. Are all these big companies just swapping old logos now or something? I quite like it mind you.
