You guys probably remember when I got laid off back in June. I really loved that job and thought it was such a bad thing. When I got laid off their stock was hovering around $27 a share, and I was pretty thankful I took part in their stock option plan as it was a nice bit of money that helped keep my head above water.
Two days after the 50+ of us got laid off their stock jumped to 33+ a share.
I checked today and thier stock has plummeted to 17.00 a share. I guess getting let go from that place was actually a good thing. A lot of the average joe workers just lost their asses because of all the stocks they bought.
So I guess it is always for the better. Just wanted to share.

Things are rarely ever as bad as they might seem. Head up, stiff upper lip and all that. Hope you've landed on your feet or at least someone else's head.

I hope you sold you stock or at least had some diversity in yer pholio before it dropped to 17 buxorz... :O
My Dad (the dummy) had all his money wrapped up in CITIBANK... his stock lost more than half it's value this past year due to the Mortgage Division's stupidity...
... glad you're out of that job, btw... sounds like their layoffs were necessary though... something bad was obviously brewing for a while.

I had no choice Pony. When I got canned they gave me market value (27ish) I had no choice on the matter. They bought me out regardless. I was buying it through them at a discount price way below market value. I made money from being let go. All the people still working there though are hosed. They pushed that stock on people SO much. I feel bad for them.
- kinda lucked out then! :) that takes some of the scent outta the turd... huh?PonyBoy

did the price seem to go down because of all the selling?
anyway, thanks for having a sense of humor through all this (the new job probably helps but it is nice to see). no wonder you got awarded years back on nt. peace.

jay, after the layoff the price went up, I guess that happens after layoffs. The price tanked after they made a stupid purchase of tv guide (a dying entity) and bombed further when bmg announced they're going drm free. This companies whole business plan was drm. Thanks kodap!!.
