ate meat (chicken) for the first time in 7 years.

    and it was gooooooooooooood.

first started being a vegetarian when i was in school and thought it was the morally responsible thing to do. now i'm just hungry and fake meat products simply don't cut it. anyone else with a similar experience?

I read that bacon is the number one conversion factor in returning vegetarians to the meat fold

    • It should be. It is the only 'higher being' i believe in...madirish1/4
Bacon might be the only thing to convince me of the existence of God....TheBlueOne2/4

you should just eat a little meat and stick to non processed lighter fair like fish and chicken. you got a head start on what most people should be doing so don't fuck it up

I completely fall back into it. Usually Veal Siciliana with Rosemary and Prosciutto break my will. Basically the most morally offensive food next to eating babies.

    • not even close to it.... but a beautiful plate for sure. :)madirish

i've heard that people who are vegans should talk to a nutritionist if they plan on having kids. they say that while adults can do well on this type of diet its not very well suited for infants or children who are growing and need protein from meat and dairy to develop normally.

see that?... veganism is bad for you

I fell off the wagon at my sisters wedding 10 years ago!
She had 10' shirmp cocktail table and an open bar.
Sounds like a recipe for disaster but I was just drunk and hungry enough to chow down and I haven't looked back since.

The down side being I've gained at least 20lbs since then and my left arm is continuously going numb.

    • yours too?Randd1/4

My friends all changed from vegetarians to meat-eaters within a few years of being in university. They claim it's because they don't want to make a fuss when ordering food or going to other people's houses, but we all know it's really because meat is soooo gooood.

    • i smell what yer cookin'...madirish1/2
haha, that too. But really, I love chicken. and ribs...Jaline2/2

i went 15 or 16 years without eating meat. total vegetarian, even was vegan on and off for a year or so (yuck)

then one year before going to the beach for vacation i decided i didnt want to miss out on awesome fresh seafood. god DAMN shrimp are tasty.

then a few years later i couldnt figure out why i was avoiding chicken so i dove in last thanksgiving and gave in to poultry. fantastic.

im pretty happy where i am with just poultry/fish on the meat menu.
turkey bacon is jesus, chicken wings are god. amen.

i hate ordering the veggy burger 'cause there was nothing else on the menu. vegetarian meals in resturants ussually taste like cradboard.

    • I'm sure there's some truth to what they're saying. It just seems weird that they got sick of it after a while.Jaline

    pretty self-explanatory;
    - take a whole turkey, intact, patted dry
    - submerge in boiling oil until internal temp reaches 170F
    - let cool for 20 minutes
    - should take ~ 24 minutes.

    • You need the stainless bucket and other gear too, right?Mimio1/6
      ideally, you can borrow mine.mrdobolina2/6
it is called a 'stock pot' and a 'tripod burner', but yes- you will need these items.madirish3/6
