MBP won't wake up 1313 Responses

  Sometimes when I close my MacBook Pro to carry it to a meeting, when I open it the thing will just not wake back up. It goes into some kind of sleep mode. Hitting the space bar, trackpad, nothing. To fix it I have to hold down the power button and hard restart. Is there a function key I should be hitting? Any ideas?

  ps. It's current/up-to-date with all it's software/firmware.

  I had this once with my Macbook, turned out when i upgraded my RAM i didn't push it in hard enough and it came loose (this was weeks after).

  smc reset:
  turn off ur mb, disconnect all cables, take out the battery, then press on/off button for 5 secs, then put all back in

  pram-restart while holding alt + apple + r + p, i think

  • That's what I usually do. Also helps when macbook doesn't charge despite the battery being below 90%– rafalski
