I find it needs enlarging sometimes, especially in proximity to big straight squarish thing.

i find the numerals in many fonts are too small in comparrison to the text. this is a source of mild frustration.

as a rule of thumb, you should always make the '@' symbol a point size smaller and raise the baseline by .5 pt's when typesetting a persons email address...

I think it might be an optical illusion caused by the curvature of the top of the numberform in relation to the rectilinear nature of the letterform. Our eyes betray us always.
