print registered to emboss

a few people asked about this today... we have 3 different printers we've used that have been able to consistently register ink very precisely to embossed graphics. In the case of the AKA card they even registered the dropped out logo to the exact center of a slightly thickened version of the same logo used for the embossing die (the type had extremely thin portions) and trimmed each card to cut off exactly half of the "period" at the end of the logo. Thanks for the interest!

i know seff--it's just that a few people were asking how the printer did it, but it doesn't seem that difficult with today's technology

I only asked because the few times I've done it, printers have been very reluctant to do pieces with tight registration like that on embossing and similar processes.

i just learned what registration meant. better now than never.

Any printer who says they can't do a clean registered emboss isn't worth the duct tape holding their presses together.

I like the warhol look so insist on everything being printed on an AB Dick with paper plates.
