Nevermind all that bullshit _eh_.....
Anyway, two things are a must, The Nile Cruise from Luxor or Abu Simbel, and one of the beaches, if you like crowded touristy beaches, Sharm El Shiekh is for you, if you like Quiet untouched beaches you need to go to Dahab(my fave). Other than that, it will only take you a couple days to get sick of Cairo, and if you have enough time, Alexandria is a great place to visit as well. Hit me up if you need anything else. Safe Travels.

awesome senseg. I hope you have a great time.
I would love to visit Egypt, but for now, I'll have to live my life vicariously through you. Tell us all about it when you get back.

Dahab rox - really great place. Nice diving the red-sea.
The nile cruise is incredible. Try do a 2 or 3 day cruise and get a good boat & "crew", as they'll be in your face most of the time.
Pryamids are A+. Even some of the more obscure ones are worth venturing out too.
City of the dead is good for photos. But don't pull over.
Generally the food sux in Egypt.
Be sure to spend some relax time in some sheesha dens!
Cairo is something else - though true, maybe only need a day or two for the city (museam and exploring). Otherwise it's all about the pyramids, temples, nile and dahab.

Enter response:man i was there for a month on a job and it was a shit hole. it was cool for 2 days, after that all the smog and horn honking get to you. they cant drive for shit, prob worse than china. they love driving in the middle of the road for whatever reason. people were cool, but its a dirty filthy city. i would advise, 2 days, see pyramids, museum, walk around for a day and be out.
- JesseJensen0
That's totally wrong, mitee_ in fact, I don't think you've been there.

I went on a cruise from Luxor to Aswan about 6 years ago. Went on my own on one of those all inclusive food and drink deals. It was mostly older folks on the boat but it was the most chilled I have ever been. Read a lot of books, took in a lot of sites, sketched alot (see link below) and generally found it an amazing place. Also spent some dosh on a flight to Abu Simbel. That was well worth it. And I didn't even see the pyramids so I definitely have to go back.

egypt is brilliant! go on a camel ride around the pyramids. go snorkelling. go to the museums.
don't eat salad or anything that could have tap water on it.
don't eat meat that has been cooked on a rusty skip in the street.
bring anti-diorrhea tablets and rehydration salts. 80% chance you'll be uncomfortable otherwise.

I spent most of my time in Egypt snorkeling and diving, it is amazing there.
Apparently the Egyptian Currency is ridden with germs, you're more likely to pick something up from their bills than food, so take some of that antibac hand wash stuff that people with OCD have!
Only eat outside of your hotel if it has been recommended by the hotel.
Always barter with taxi drivers, they try to milk tourists more than anyone.

True - had probably the worst food poisoning i've ever had in Cairo. Violent stuff. From some dodgy kebab (that was probably camel meat).
But the filth and grime is all part of it! You can always cruise around in 5-start hotels if such bothers you.
take this for eg:
