What are some bleeding edge examples of (successfull) e-commerce designs. It seems e-commerce is always the slowest to incorporate new design/web methodologies.... and when they do, they fail

What would you consider new design methodologies? Following e-commerce standards is probably the most important aspect.

yeah people sometimes forget in the rush to implement all the cool new (and useful functionally) stuff, that the end user would much rather a simple conventional interface and buying system which they understand and have used before time and time and time again.
proceed with caution when you are trying to push the e-commerce envelope. I speak from bitter experience.
for the record I only used the term 'push the envelope' cos he used the term 'bleeding edge'
