IE Simple HTML problems

Hey dudes,
I am creating an HTML e-mail mailout at work, and I can ONLY use HTML inline, so I'm using tables / slices. For some reason, when an image is loaded in a cell and text is placed in a cell beside it, IE pushes the text cell way over, resulting in spacing issues.. Does anyone know an HTML fix for this? Am I just stupid? (I don't usually deal with web stuff, especially sensitive cross browser compatibility stuff.)

Hard to say without seeing it myself, but are you giving your TDs explicit height and width values?

what he said.
you need to set the widths on the td

widths are all set.. in fact I heard through the grapevine if you give the cells 1px breathing room it should stop this from happening.. it doesn't.

try setting the align & valign top top and left respecitvley.
look out for any breaking spaces.would be god to se it in a browser too.

I can't post it, as it's still in-house, internal stuff. I'm all valign / align left, even in img tags.
The weirdest thing is, I have another one using a similar layout and it's working fine, I've compared code and it seems identical. A mystery.

is the text already in its own cell? if not, try that.
