    hello all,
here's a question, what color would you consider to be predominant in game packaging, more specifically accessories, controllers, cables etc. I know last 2 years was mostly black.
I took a few trips to some stores and saw a lot of red this present time.

if anyone has any opinions please let me know, thanks

black is the saleable colour for a reason, it doesnt get in your face or distract you from what you are really looking at.

i design electronic accessories, and i sell them to best buy too...what will he see there??

when i first started as a new vendor on the electronic accssories market the industry was dominated by Case Logic and their "black nylon" cases. they have had this dominant market for years and still do...

today however with everyone having all the latest gadgets and the latest styles they the consumer all also as well want and dont want to show off their newly owned products.

for some the "black" is what they like as it doesnt say "HEY LOOK ATT MY NEW..."

for others you will see jsut the opposite and rather in your face "PATTERNS" "POKE-A-DOTS" "STRIPES" and even "TRANSLUCENT" bright colours....

will that colour blast last?? no...probablly not...as trends and the best yet consumer reports show "BLACK"
is the only dominant work and "SALEABLE" colour as it effects the masses first and is always welcome in any product or accessory.

whether the consumer today wants colour or not the market will always go back to "BLACK" as it is the best "SALEABLE" colour ever.

    :)

while edd-e brings out a good point, I also want to point out the Xbox 360 scheme.

While Xbox v.1 was black and that trademark acidic green, Xbox 360 is white and that green. Playstation stayed pretty much black and silver, while nintendo Wii went white.

Now these are consoles with their own identity , and not an individual game that sits on a rack with many other games waiting to be "discovered". But then again, a lot of gaming marketing is Word of mouth, and its rating, and not, hey this sort of looks cool.

but yea, black, i would say.. Black and green.

i think what youre looking for is stuff like what alienware does. browsing through their stuff might give you some ideas and maybe apply some of it to what exactly it is you need done.

i think theres 2 categories here. one is basic (black or white) and the customized ala pimp my ride look.
