We actually use basecamp in the studio but its no so much for 'design management' as it is a studio forum to post messages to people, files, to-do lists etc...i guess in a way it IS design management after all...

Design Management is a Post Graduate Diploma/Masters Degree.
It offers a broad range of management skills, methods and tools at a design enterprise level. Its more about bridging the gap between design and business.

it's relatively new, here in holland the BNO hosts lectures and seminars regarding design management...
It's basically like having a super PM that acts as the interface between management and design and functions.. Generally with a greater understanding of technology, design, design theory, management and marketing...
Seems like a welcome organisational layer to me...
