I've self diagnosed myself with tendonitis in my mouse arm. Aside from being conscious of the way I sit (gotta stop that slouching), I want a more ergonimic solution in terms of a mouse.
Does anyone have any recommendations? I'm currently debating buying one of these two thingies: a vertical mouse, or a graphic tablet.

Does anyone have any experience or insight with either?

If you´re going to buy a wacom tablet, also be sure on buying a thinner pencil for it.
The standard pencil, what comes with the intuos 3 tablet is gross like a tree on your arms.
But you´re not going to do all the work with the tablet, thus start sitting correctly on your desk and much of hand pain is going to disapear

I'd say Wacom, but depends what you are doing most of the time, drawing or pointing..

where is the pain?
curious to compare it with my condition, and if it is similar, to share what I've done to help myself

I do lots of pointing work, I do a lot of web work, flash, and a good amount of photoshop work.
The pain is about halfway up my forearm on the bottom side. I originally though it was a softball injury, but the season has been over for a month and I get little spouts of pain still after a long days work.

I had the same problems, even after three week sof holiday the pain was there, i tried that evoluent mouse but in my opinion it sucks.
I started to put my regular mouse on the left (takes a while to get used) and a wacom on the right. That with good chair, sitting properly behind the desk and taking regular breaks helped me out.
Oh yeah and i use Macbreakz to alert me when i am working to long for one period.

swim 4 times to daily each week. you're suffering from a RSI. the solution lies in what ELSE you do not merely changing how you're doing what you do.

thank you for the insight everyone, much appreciated.

Just to conclude this story, I bought the mouse, It cost me 85 Bucks.
After the first/second week, my arm got tired from using it all day. It uses different muscles and tires you out. Also, it's super sensitive, that takes a lot of getting used to (even with sensitivity adjusted).
I stuck it out, my arm doesn't hurt anymore, and my arm doesn't fatigue out from using it all day.
Would I recommend it for everyone? no.
Would I recommend it for those who have arm pains from regular mouseage? probably.
I'll probably pick up a tablet down the road for fun, but for now this mouse is doing it's job.
