Sorry IE 6 or less it seems to be happening not sure about IE 7

Please tell us "what" exactly is happening.
- Moo0
in firefox both the contact form div and the address div are level but in IE the address is under the contact form

looks fine on ie7.
i have noticed that across the browsers they interpret padding and margins differently and you have to account for them in different ways with your widths and height.
- Moo0
think ive done that with the padding and margins but still nothing
- Moo0
does anyone know why this is happening??

I see no difference between FF & IE7...
- Moo0
think it must only apply to IE 6 and lower but there still must be away around this??
- Moo0
there must be away around this as it works fine on http://www.georgeforemangrills.c…

do not specify fixed widths and padding on the same object, ie: pr_right has a width and padding. ff is counting the padding as part of the width, IE is adding the padding to the width

May be some help here:

several people have mentioned the box model problem that IE has in regards to how it figures in margins and padding as part of the width/height rather than outside of it like Moz browsers. as a check to verify your right div is not wider than the space alloted, just add a temporary border to see what's going on.
also, when you have two divs next to each other and you want to display inline with each other, IE requires you add:
float: left;

i also put together this css hack reference file that may prove to be helpful to some (esp with the annoying IE issues!):

i get the feeling the contact form is playing a part in making the left div wider in IE6 is there anyway in controlling the form fields a fixed size??

Nice link urban thanks.
Moo. Strip out all content of divs, and put dummy text in. Put a border round them get the poistion right and then work from there adding each piece of content in and refresh.
Plus put float left on each div maybe

finalyy got the divs next to each other but now have a massive space on the right handside thanks for the advise dancer

just added a border around both divs and it looks like the right hand div doesn't seem to be using the width in the css
