he should have taken a dump on the floor, at least make the arrest worthwhile

um... didn't he try to answer the first one, but the dude, just kept talking. He escalated that situation, if he wanted to really ask those questions and not just make a statement, then he failed bad. But yeah, kerry should have stepped in and talked over him.

University of Florida is a public university as far as I know, and at a state sponsored public university we have this little thing called the bill of rights. maybe you have heard of it? in case you haven't basically what this bill of rights says is that you are allowed to both say what's on your mind and peaceably assemble. This kid was a douchebag, thats for sure, but he wasn't violent and was within his rights at an open mic forum to say whatever he liked, again guaranteed by this thing called the bill of rights.

not acting meth-head-ish is also a good way to not end up on the more painful end of a stungun

Apparently he continually insults the entire student body in a column he writes for the college newspaper and everyone hates him, so that might explain it...

(Sep 18 07, 10:10)it's called freedom of speech, your disagreement should not in any way become a justification as to why the person was mistreated
- joyride0
we've got this thing called the constitution too, but that don't really matter much either

to the cops' defense, we now have more information and know that they followed him as he charged in. at the beginning of the video, they are standing at a distance letting him speak.
kerry waited too long to answer his question and i think the cops took that as a sign to 'take control of the situation'
and again, like most, i just don't agree with their over-agressive approach.

Would have been hilarious if the kid had just said:
"Mr. Kerry, I'll cut to the chase: Do you eat ketchup with every meal?"
- morilla0
We all agree it's wrong and always will be.
In a make believe world with unicorns and pixies everything would be just peachy. The Bill of rights and constitution would mean something and I would get a daily morning tug from Milla Jovavich.
Too bad....welcome to the real world

^ cop out (no pun intended)

they don't teach cops the 1st ammendment in cop school. they don't protect rights-- they take them away and read the miranda. if you want someone to protect your rights then you need to see someone like Senator Kerry...
i think they shouldn't teach us the 1st ammendment either. i mean what a let down!

^ i'm shocked (also no pun intended)

I'm sorry, but it always surprises me when I hear that response. Basically this is the real world and cops kick the shit out of the citizens and thats just the way it is.
But it doesn't have to be. we really can hold the police to a higher standard. they work for us after all, its time we remind them of this.
- morilla0
what are you doing to change this?
Police corruption has been around since the beginning of power structures.
Good luck

citizens: "fuck cops!"
cops: "fuck citizens!"
blanket statements suck in either direction so why make them? there will always be people who, when trusted with a position of power or authority, will abuse the shit out it.mindsets like "fuck the police" only increase the gap between "us" and "them"

when i take the time to craft my bullshit it almost sounds believable
