I tried watching the original awhile back as a lead up into this but I think I was either too drunk or too tired to get into it.
It definitely looked like a movie that would benefit from a remake as it was in black and white and looked like it was from the late 50's.
Plus Christian Bale does pwn.

Yea, he is an absolutely insane method actor.
For the Machinist he lost a dangerous amount of weight for the part.
His explanation on how, "Just didn't eat."
Then he had to bulk up for Batman.
His explanation, "Worked out night and day."
That doesn't necessarily pertain to his method acting, but it shows his dedication to changing his body chemistry for a part, and the rest falls into place. He has the character name he is playing on his trailer and goes thru the entire time being the person basically.
He's genius.

Saw it on Sunday... great chemistry between Bale and Crowe. The ending was perfect! Also, nice to see Peter Fonda being awesome!
