Every day here in Chicago.
I take the El to work most days and the bus sometimes.
We're about to have armageddon here because the idiot state politicians think they shouldn't further fund the CTA, so rates are going up, routes are being cut, and it's going to inconvenience many many people.

not many buses out here in the burbs.
i drive to work everyday. it's 6 miles. :)
when i was freelancing downtown it was a metra train and on days it was hot a cab, days it was ok, i walked the mile and a half to work from there.

I do when I can wake up early enough to get here on time, which is too rare.

I take the bus nearly everyday to school and work. I could drive if I had a car, but to be honest I have always preferred taking the bus because I can just chill out and not worry about watching things.
At the same time, taking the bus takes about double the time it would to drive a car. So I figure out which one is better, and go with it. If my dad wants to pick me up some days, I think of myself as being lucky to have that option once in a while. But I have no plans of buying a car right now. Maybe once I graduate. It's not like the Ottawa bus system is amazing, but the city is growing a lot each year.
Taking the bus is cheaper too. I have a student semester bus pass, which covers from Sept. --> Dec.

i noticed americans have a taboo against pub transport, esp as you get older, owning a car is a sign of success etc,...
in most advanced countries, norway, finland and esp netherlands, which is all about bicycles, you dont have to own a car to prove something, the standard of living is that high there are no losers

I rely on public transportation to get around. Bus and Rail.

I used to use Public Transport, but as I live a few miles out of the city I worked in, the service was rubbish and was one of the main reasons i left that job.
Now work in a smaller town, twice as far away and have a nice blast there through lots of empty country roads everyday in the car. Takes half as long, I don't have to stand all the way and its cheaper!

"I can just chill out and not worry about watching things."
Most women are like that when they are driving.

I drive because I'm in Atlanta. I'm moving in July of '08, I don't know where, but I do know this F-ing car isn't coming with!
