Not sure if im just a stupid ass and have gotten the wrong end of a bad joke..
But Obey is an established company that has been around for at LEAST 10 years. I have an obey shirt from like 1999.
Again, maybe I just misunderstood the broadcast but it seems to suggest its some kind of new brand...
I really love the Obey brand btw, great ethos

Straight from the street! For the people by the people! Available at JCPennys and other fine retailers! hahaha disgusting

You could have gone to the QBN Sessions and told Shepard Fairey what you think of his work in person.

(Sep 7 07, 09:55)I could have but then I would have had to buy a ticket which in turn supports him. I could however find someone who has an 8 year old Obey t-shirt and ask them to send it to me. I could then make a video of me burning it and then posting it on youtube with obey tags. This in fact would cost me nothing

it's all love though

A good friend of mine is a painter and they both had their work displayed for a show ... my friend went up to Shep to introduce himself and say hi ... he got blown off. I don't like the dude.

hey man, like if suddenly j c penny comes to you and asks you if you are willing to sell that "little underground project of yours" on their chain of stores to massive ammounts of people so you can retire early you are all going to say no, while looking at this guy in a suit holding a bag of money.
- tommyo0
If your ethos IS underground anti-establishment...it is a wrong move. Don't make your company an anti-establishment deal if you're going to open the door to dudes with bags of cash.
- tavin0
please his whole angle is a gimmick (that works) still he would do anything for cash! better that than a sandwich. hes printing money at this point.
- fr0st0
shepard is not his real first name... its Frank
Franky Fairey...he mustve gotten beaten up alot as a kid...

I went to his last show in NYC. Walked right up to him, he was cool as hell, talkin to everyone. Your buddy must be a herb.
And sure he found a way to market his work, but the dude is seriously talented. Jealousy's a bitch.

(Sep 7 07, 11:50)yeah come on..
tell me you wouldn't take a bag of cash in echange to sell your designs at the gap or wallmart?take the money, change your name, move somewhere else and start over or just retire..
you can do whatever you want, this time no need to worry about paying rent..they say everyone has their price..
right?
no?
think again:
