I know i asked you guys about it what you prefer.
I have never been to the states and im about to sign a contract for a fulltime job in NYC. recently i ve freelanced, lived on an island near beach in Greece. Freelance gives me enough money to live. Lots of people and parents saying im doing a mistake. What are your thoughts? Im confused a little.

Go fulltime until you make some connections in the states, then go freelance.
- MrD0
stay where you are
cause if you come here, you are gonna ask more of the same question
if you have doubts about leaving that you shouldnt

everyone gets tired of where they're at. if you are looking for something totally new and different from where you're at, I don't think you'll have much trouble finding that change in NYC. me, personally, I'd love to trade places with you and go sit on a beach in Greece with a laptop for a while.

yeah, it's true, it's not like you're moving to Idaho. NYC has lots of opportunities and agencies that you can get to know once you're here.
It's all up to you, what do you want and where do you see yourself? Life's about taking chances my man....Good luck to ya and keep us posted...

Go full time enjoy the city, experience something new - energize - keep your greece connections and move back or move on when you feel that itch.

Good luck!

do what people who have never met you and know nothing about you tell you to do

I doubt you will have trouble finding either full time or freelance, and I'm sure you could make good $$ doing both. The question is, what do you prefer, working in an office with other people at a 9 to 5 or working at home or from your own office (or cafe, or whatever) and the ability to set your own hours?

I work full time so that one day i can live on an island near beach in Greece.
Stay put.

It's harder to get a job outside cities - I say do not miss the chance of working in NY if you have the chance but you should try to keep your local contacts in greece. Maybe freelance from the US for a bit and see if you can handle it both.
No need to make definitive "cuts". It's not like you're going to another planet full of crazy aliens (oh wait...)

I would visit the place before I signed a full-time contract, just to see if the place fullfilled my expectatitions and if I wanted to live there.

you aint signing your life away.
NY is someplace you'll either love or hate - there is no inbetweens.
if you get there and find you dont like it, hand your notice in and go back to greece.
dont miss the opportunity if you are being offered a job.
good luck :)
