Why is radial blur in photoshop the only thing that seems to use all the processing power of this big fuck off silver lump I've got under my desk?

because photoshop itself isn't multithreaded. a plug-in built for photoshop can be built to be multithreaded, but i don't believe the app itself is, thus, no super duper multi core support.

oh, sorry. didn't mean to be so specific to photoshop. many apps are still not built to be multithreaded, so thus, they'll only use 1 core. the OS though can split up apps and assign them to 1 core or another, so overall speed will be better regardless, but a specific app not built to work over multiple cores won't take advantage or more than 1.

Go to the window and say..
" I"m mad as hell, and I'm not going to take it anymore!!"
In your best Peter Finch voice.

But why?!
Multicore processors have been around for ages.
Why don't these lazy programmer fucks make the most of them?
It's like having a fast car and never getting out of 2nd gear...

I think CS3 is programmed to utilise multicore processors!
