Any suggestions where I could buy a good desk/work table in Los Angeles?
Here is my dream desk- I realize this does not exist but the closer to this the better:
Bamboo/Pine/Mahogany
55" x 45"
At least one drawer on each long side
$400 - $700Any thoughts?
Thanks,
TR

go just east of Culver City on Venice. There is a huge complex of furniture stores. The bigger ones are in the old Helms Bakery - they preserved the look of the Bakery, the sign, etc. It's kind of cool - at least cooler than Ikea.

Thanks bro - I've actually been there a couple of times and found good stuff but no non-swedish desks.
Great place though.
Anyone else?

Price range at Helms varies a lot. There are a few different stores. HD Buttercup is a store with maybe 20 vendors inside of all different types and prices. Really worth a visit for any kind of furniture and there is even one vendor that sells weird antique items- like old wall mount fire hoses and neon signs and stuff.

The exact address is 8800 Venice Boulevard - on the corner of Venice and Helms.
Visited a few places today and still haven't found what I'm looking for..oh oh oh... what I'm looking for.

I picked up an old tanker desk by steelcase not too long ago on sunset for about $300. It's pure vintage gold, straight outta NASA via the cold war, those shits were made to defend against nuclear attack!
Not too sure of the addy, but its a block from Sunset junction in silver lake.
