There's good food in most neighborhoods, hit up Little Italy, on College St., west of Bathurst St.. Although, Ossington, between Queen and Dundas has all the trendy new spots. Take the Queen street car west and walk up Ossington. Lot's of Gallery's around there too.
Swipe Books is good for Design related stuff, so is Function 13 in Kensington Market (walk around there for sure, it's just off Spadina, west of China Town).
I'm out of the city on Saturday, during the day, but shoot me an email if you want to go for a beer or something. West end of down town is where the goods are, but The Beach neighborhood could be fun during the day or head over to the Islands, rent some bikes and cruise around, hit up a beach there if you're so inclined.
That's all I got.

Oddly enough my son's buddy is opening for De La Soul at the Phoenix on August 23rd (Ko Kapches). I'll be the old guy at a bar with his kids, can't miss me!
