Two more are slain in city
A woman, 27, and a man, 20, were shot to death early yesterday in separate cases.By Jan Hefler and Jeff Shields
Inquirer Staff WritersTwo separate shootings early yesterday left a 27-year-old woman and a 20-year-old man dead, bringing Philadelphia's homicide toll to 177 for the year. Police arrived at the first shooting, in the 2200 block of North Cleveland Street in North Philadelphia, at 12:45 a.m. to find Tamika Howzell, 27, of the 2300 block of North Woodstock Street, dead of multiple shots to the chest. She was alone when her body was discovered, police said.
Nearly an hour and a half later, a shoot-out erupted outside a bar in the 2200 block of North Lawrence Street in North Philadelphia in a dispute over a handbag. Detective Sgt. Tim Cooney said Nam Van Tram, 20, of the 2800 block of North Reese Street, was shot multiple times in the face, head and body and was pronounced dead a short time later at Temple University Medical Center. A second man was shot in the arm and was treated and released.
Police also released the name of the city's 175th homicide victim, who was killed Saturday afternoon. William Daly, 43, of the 1700 block of Windsor Road in Blue Bell, was found outside 599 West Tioga St. in North Philadelphia with gunshot wounds to the arm and chest.
No arrests had been made in any of the cases as of last night.

Ehh, the gun violence is where you wouldn't go anyways. Not to say its not a big deal, its just not something tourists really have to worry about if they stay on the beaten path.
