what about l'espalier?
http://www.lespalier.com/
haven't been myself, but word is it's top shelf.
- Rand0
grunttt--sweet!
greedo--espalier seems a bit fancy for my blood. I went to Clio once a long time ago, and really like it, but that, too seemed like a suit kind of a place, and I only have jeans and tee shirt. How about rendezvous, in Central Square? Have you tried that?
- GreedoLives0
ha, that place used to be a burger king! no, haven't been, must be pretty new.
That's certainly a lively neighborhood, the middle east restaurant/club is right next door, it's excellent people watching.
One recent place i've been to lately that's fancy but still t-shirt and jeans is Olé in Inman square:

It's mexican, but interesting modern mexican. They prepare the guacamole right at your table in volcanic bowls.

yeah, capital grille ain't exactly jeans and t-shirt either. it's not suit either. it's somewhere in the middle.

I am a bit worried about the spartanness of the former burger king aspect, though

Capital Grille is awesome, been to the one here in Chicago.
Get the largest Porterhouse, I think it's 28oz, I'd never had meat like that before, it was excellent.
