I have three background images stacked (this is an simplified file w/ no content...typically the middle would have content). Anyway...in IE and Safari there is a gap between the top two background images. I've tried adding display block to the images , setting the margins and padding to 0. Nothing is ridding me of the gap. Suggestions?

I must have read your post a few times and I still have no clue what you are trying accomplish to be honest.
That little red space between the top of the browser space and the top part of the white image?

hey tawd-re,
img {
margin:0px;
padding:0px;
border:0px;
}px, not pt in such cases

omg that was funny.

thanks for the response but version5...that didn't work.

then.
you're.
still.
doing.
something.
wrong.you need to fix all your div classes/ids with the 0pt. switch them to 0px. and add the border declaration set to 0px as well.

you can do just 0 with no unit, works
are you talking about the white line that makes the boxes look like teh tops are coming off?
if so, you have an image that looks like that somewhere in there
i think you css is pretty hard to follow, maybe refactor

"you can do just 0 with no unit"
works, on most browsers, not all,
px is suggested to reduce any old browsers from rendering your divs incorrectly.
while we can't make them upgrade, we can make it look right for them

v5, which ones?
ie 5.0 takes it fine and it's pretty old

remove the background image from the ctaBody style? It looks like that is what's causing the appearance of a gap at the top of the boxes.

version 5...did you look at the css...no mention of "pt" anywhere.
- version30
firebug adds them to your "0" knowing that numbers need increment designators, so yes i have looked.
if i didn't get paid to write css, i might be a little nicer and help you, but the fact you've still only made it this far in the past 2 days and just want to question my help....
I'm no teacher just a doer, I told you how I'd do it. enjoy the arguing and questioning of those around you.
might i suggest
http://www.w3schools.com/css/maybe buy
http://www.amazon.com/CSS-Master…just don't ask me anymore. what you are working on doesn't seem to have a theme anywhere or a multi page experience in mind for visitors let alone an attractive navigatable presence, and personally to me, screams lame.
seacrest. out.

dude...you haven't been the least bit helpful from the start so...get off your high horse.
your negativity and bravado is ridiculous at best.
if you want to help someone the first segway into your comment shouldn't be an insult.
thx for the help but how about selecting ignore on my profile so I can post in peace without this nonsense.
