This is the first time I finished a HP book within 1.5 days. Usually I take a lot longer, but this time I set myself a goal. It has worked out well ;)

Oh man, this girl I know worked the book release party taking pictures at Barnes & Nobles, and all anyone can talk about at work is the movie and book, hahah.
Everyone who got it on Saturday ... has already finished it.
...
I have never read or seen one of these books or movies. :X
- Jaline0
Finished the book!
Pretty good...

I don't know. Harry's okay but he (and Ron, especially) are at that age where they'd be fun to hang out with, but would also piss you off with how angsty and courageous they are.
Voldemort ships Harry + Hermoine, heh.

ADDITIONAL SPOILER!! (more of a question... but a spoiling one)...
DUMBLEDORE IS OLD ANYWAY... right?
- elahon0
When The Half-Blood Prince came out, on the same day tshirthell.com released a tshirt stating...
SPOILER INCASE SOMONE HASN'T READ IT YET......
"Dumbledore Dies on Page xxx"
Classy.
- Jaline0
Exactly.
I agree that people shouldn't be reading reviews and going to spoiler sites when they don't want to be spoiled, and then proceed to complain about it. They're idiots.
My friends told me that the largest secret from the 6th book was revealed in bold letters in one particularly paper around here.
Anyway, the argument that HP is a "children's book" doesn't even work anymore.

Find it bizarre adults getting worked up about spoilers for a children's book in broadsheet literary review sections.
Just don't read the reviews before you read the book ffs!

(Jul 22 07, 10:43)I mostly agree with you about the second part, but frankly, if Harry Potter is really such a kid's book, why is it being reviewed in 'broadsheet literary review sections'? I'm no Harry Potter fanboy by any stretch, but you do have to be familiar with the series to get it, really.

According to her: “I am staggered that some American newspapers have decided to publish purported spoilers in the form of reviews in complete disregard of the wishes of literally millions of readers, particularly children, who wanted to reach Harry’s final destination by themselves, in their own time."
There is some truth to this statement.

(Jul 22 07, 09:40)Are kids likely to be reading the review section of the NY Times?

To be honest, I could care less that she's that rich.
Possibly because I get pissed off when spoilers are put everywhere without a warning first (like how many newspapers seem to divulge everything from a book the day it's released). Obviously a spoiler isn't a spoiler anymore given enough time, like 2-3 weeks for this book is released, for example.
It's like whenever someone is extremely wealthy people can't care about their opinions or feelings anymore.
