Hello all.
I am lucky enough to have had a 2nd generation iPod (b/w screen, 4 buttons & clickwheel) that has never given me any trouble whatsoever. Until now.
I plugged it in to my iMac last night for the first time in about 6 weeks & it caused some problems after I wiped it...
Occasionally it froze my iTunes for no reason but mainly froze it when I tried to transfer songs...
Has anyone experienced similar problems & could anyone offer any advice?
All help greatly appreciated.
Ta.

I didn't know it was even legal to keep using an iPod for so long without upgrading! ;)
My wild guess is hard drive is dying, but you will get more info at http://ilounge.com forums

I know, I know... I've been very lucky with my little old iPod...
Unbelievably enough it's literally the very first bit of trouble it's ever given me...
I think you are right about the HD as it was making some worryingly audible clicking noises as it tried to initialise before it finally connected... then, when I tried to copy songs across manually, it kicked up a fuss...Will have a look at that iLounge site you mentioned...
Thanks!
