Vancouver 2010 Is Looking For Pictogram Artists:
http://www.vancouver2010.com/en/…
On Thursday June 14th, Vancouver 2010 will be posting a Request for Proposals (RFP) to find an artist (or team of them) to develop the Vancouver 2010 pictograms.
Pictograms have long been the iconic representation of Olympic and Paralympic sport, appearing in a huge variety of applications including maps, wayfinding, communications, merchandise, broadcast and video graphics, and the Look of the Games that beautifies Games venues and the host region. These Vancouver 2010 symbols will identify venues and events to an international audience, and generate a feeling of pride among athletes, reflecting the motion, spirit and intensity of their sports. It is our goal to create pictograms that will reflect Canadians’ passion for sport and great design.

would be a fun gig..
but at the same time brings back some of the same logo issues and the open public contest which was heavily debated.
the complete identity really shoulda been one unified concept, executed by one professional team.
