"A soon-to-open Near West Side fitness parlor that specializes in the new exercise craze of pole-dancing can serve liquor after workouts, a City Council committee decided wednesday, as the local alderman bemoanedthe fact that no men are allowed."
So, you work out, then get drunk?

ohhh, here's the link...

I was thinking about the extra levels of nastiness and perversion until it said, "no men are allowed".
Now I think this is a fun idea.

I bet there will be men instructors or staff
- Jaline0
It also reminds me of one of my very first threads about strip pole workouts..

(Jun 13 07, 06:07)I doubt that, actually. Almost every time I have seen these places (*ahem* on TV), there are only women there.
- Jaline0
unless it is their boyfriend / husband, but this explicity says, "no men allowed".

(Jun 13 07, 06:08)it's ok Jaline, who are we to judge?

who knows, maybe if kona is still looking for a job, he can wear a wig and be an instructor...
;)

that is sexist.
so they assume that all men that want to attend are perves?
my friend is a pole dancer and she said that some of the classes that she attends allow men.
in fact it's becoming very popular amongst men.

heh
or anyone who got their man-card punched out.
I think that would be flavor.
- Jaline0
yeah, but they have all-women gyms already, and pole-dancing is this new "empowerment" thing. a lot of women take it home to their boyfriends and husbands but usually work out with their girlfriends. So it kind of makes sense.
I could see issues with having men there. I mean, you could say the same for other bars and for the weirdo women as well, but it's not as prevalent I'm sure.

(Jun 13 07, 06:25)Why, will they be allowed to pee in the sinks at this facility?
- Jaline0
hmm...good point. he gets lots of man-card points for that one.
- kelpie0
flave would be too busy imagining how cool he'd look in lycra to perv out in this place

I always though a Bookstore/Bar would be a good combo. You know, have a glass of wine, read a few magazines. Sounds like a good time to me.
- Jaline0
Don't they already have that, planet? At least on TV they do...
- planet010
I can't say that I've ever seen one, even on TV.
Anyhow, nobody steal my idea.

doh! should have been this link...

I don't care about the poledancing, every gym is doing it, that's no big deal. I have not heard of gyms that have bars where you can get blastered after a healthy workout...
