Oh, is this not out yet?
God, I got this like a week ago...the first three songs rock and then it gets all redundant in it's errant Zep-isms...and his unskillful use of the whammy pedal grates on my nerves...

"in it's errant Zep-isms"
their whole career wrapped up in one phrase.
- rusty_shackle0
i like it. altho it does get a bit redundant towards the end.

- rusty_shackle0

(Jun 8 07, 11:39)Totally agree. I like Jack's taste, I just don't like what he does with it.

what the hell are they wearing in that album cover...
- morilla0
if u must listen to a 2 person band.
only one.
Jucifer. Melt your face off....
She has a bicker dick than Jack ever will.

they're coming to Ottawa in a few weeks but I don't think I like them so much that I want to wait in line forever and actually hear them.
Interesting band though, especially when all that "we actually used to be married" stuff came about.

Nice Morilla -
Never heard of them before, but I like what I hear so far. I'll pick up an album.
Once saw a 2 piece band called Doo Rag open for the Cramps in Atlanta. The drummer played cardboard boxes while the lead singer sang through a big ass megaphone speaker. Think of the speaker Radar was always talking through in M*A*S*H*.
Great live act. Don't think they are around any more. Here's a pic:

check out their new one " If thine Enemy Hunger" and the "I name you Destroyer"

I'm partial to the Two Gallants as far as 2-people bands go...and the Black Keys too..

Not to take anything away from Jucifer, I do think they are very good and super amazing live, but Jack White is an amazing songwriter.
His songwriting is tops with contemporaries. Among people like Elliott Smith, Conor Oberst, Jeff Tweedy, Ben Gibbard (though I dont like his music, he sure can construct some amazing words), Andrew Bird, Ryan Adams, Richard Ashcroft, Stephen Malkmus, Joanna Newsom, Jeff Buckley, Neko Case, Stephen Merrit, James Mercer, elvis costello et alCertainly not the all time greats such as Tom Waits, Bob Dylan, Townes Van Zant, Neil Young, Leonard Cohen, John Lennon.
There is a big difference between whether you like a song for its over all construction and musicianship vs. purely the genius of writing lyrics and putting them to melody. Jack White would be widely considered to be one of the best by most academic musicologists.

Yeah! what an amazing team Two Gallants are ey? Awesome live too!
- morilla0
