For those of you who do database and admin systems: What kind of clause do you use in your contracts as far as maintenance goes. For instance do you agree to fix any bugs free for a certain amount of time or specify an amount they have to pay if an issue is not due to a bug but rather them screwing up data themselves?

if they are my boo boos i do it for free... if the client f's something up and doesn't read my instructions or i have to sit there and play customer support when they don't blatantly understand how to push a submit button.. then i charge up the arse

Sign a hosting retainer contract for a period of time. You can't be fixing bugs forever.

I need to update my contract with them. It was one of my first sites 7 years ago. One of the guys who works there screwed up some data and after spending my free time after work fixing I don't even get a thank you.

Every case is different... haven't got a lot of time for clients who plead ignorance, and yet haven't even got the password when i go around there :(
