So I've been working at home for a couple of months now and of course its so easy to just lounge and be lazy.
What do you guys think of the idea of renting a cubicle in an office? About $150US a month includes cubicle, free internet, free printing, free conference room, free phone calls.
Should I do it or just stay home?
thanks guys

It really depends on the motivation level of the individual. For me, I have been working remotely from home for the past 2 years...600 miles from the main office. I wouldn't go back to a cubicle unless I was forced. My clients and my co-workers have no problem reaching me. Yea, a few times when not feeling well I have taken a snooze, but in a regular office setup, I would have just called in sick and lost the whole day. Bottom line, If you can keep focused, and undistracted, its the best of both worlds. Just keep the TV and Playstation out of the home office. Truth be told, several years ago I would have most likely abused the freedom...its all about how much you enjoy and respect your job.

i echo *exactly* what zombie said.
i do not work for a company and just do this in my own space, but the thoughts are the same, nonetheless. respect your role and why people compensate you for your services, while being where you want. it is a quality of life boost i am thankful for everyday.

^ what everyone else said.
If you get all your work done and are just as respectable at home, then you could stay there. If you want more focus, then try out the cubicle thing.
The formal dressing thing is one of the reasons why I'd rather work from home, but I have no problems with going to the office and interacting with people, then staying home the next day and getting work done.

I finished my third year last month (I have one more to go), and the reason I got an office is because my boss likes me and the space I occupy is right next to her office.
When I was part time (which I am during the school year), I am usually sent to a cubicle, and then I come back when I'm full-time again (over the summer).
