Living costs? very expensive! (depending the area) not easy to get a rental, and you can get apartaments below this money, but you´re going to live with much rats ;))
The floor-price is very expensive, but there are plans to change this...
And yes, a junior designer here is payed close to this, 800-900 €/month.
BCN and basque country are going to be the Indias of design.
But is wonderfull to life here if you get an apartment near to a little town, and near to the sea.
If you learn some tricks can live with this money.
And food, wine and clubing is cheap even in some places!
Are you thinking on come with us?

WTF!! 1600/month as CD??
I make 2.5 times that as a Senior and I still don't think it's enough..
Guess Iceland and Spain is very different.
Well, regardless of pay, pick A for sure

nairn, while you're in bilbao, can you help me with something?
i was there a couple of years ago, and as i got off the train, i got a few looks from some very pretty girls. as i continued through the train station and to my hotel room, i caught more glances coming my way, even from women pushing strollers. the first night i went out, it wasn't any different, women were even coming up and flirting with me. now, i don't usually illicit this much attention, so it felt a lot like an episode of the twilight zone. it wasn't til the next day that i realized something... there weren't that many men around. it seemed as though the female population outnumbered the men three to one. then it hit me! the running of the bulls was that week in san sebastian! i'm not sure, but i figured that most of the men were out of town for the event.
while you're there, can you keep an eye out and let me know if girls still out number guys, or if it was just me? i'd like to know if i should plan another trip, as it was a fun few days :)

Time to meet chicks, but hold your balls for when the men return to town!

nairn, what do you do now?
salise, why are you getting 15 monthly payments a year?
- Peter0
can't claim much of your work as your own at mega-powerfull-brilliant agencies. Suprised they'd pay less though, but that's probably the position.
Count another a-vote from me.
btw did that studio ever settle on their tagline?
- OBBTKN0
Surprised me too...
But the way people do money on this agency is doing much extra hours, and i´m talking about CD, C and Designers, part of company´s policy.
And all packed in a brand new big building.

This is madness...
A have offered more flexibility, after B re-offered more money and now A re-re-offered more money, flexibility and future vision...
My ego is floating around the roof this moment!

flexibility and future vision now, you will end up posting to http://adverbatims.blogspot.com/… either way sooner or later ;)

It's not about hotshot agencies.
I regret leaving a small but great studio for a job offer from a BIG name company, and once i started there it turned out to be a huge disappointment. And people (companies) do not seem to care THAT much as long as your work is alright.

(Jun 1 07, 00:00)Make sure you remember that feeling. Things are more mundane when you have to eventually turn up for work at one of these gigs.
